Yvonka Hall

Yvonka Hall is the executive director of the Northeast Ohio Black Health Coalition (NEOBHC), which is dedicated to supporting social change and addressing health disparities in the African American community. Yvonka lost both her mother and best friend to domestic violence and made a childhood promise that she would use her life to help others. To address the issue of domestic violence in the African American community, she created a program called L.E.A.V. (Ladies Escaping All Violence) and the NEOBHC Advisory Committee created M.O.V.E. (Men Overcoming Violent Environments). These programs offer mental health assessments, weekly support groups, individual counseling and peer support leaders. With her motto “Live Your Purpose on Purpose,” Yvonka seeks to use her voice to make a difference in the lives of others.
