On Tuesday, October 21 from 12p-1p ET, follow @DiscoveryID and #IAD_Chat for an exclusive Twitter Q&A with Rosario Dawson, Marcia Gay Harden and Stephanie March as they discuss their charity partnerships and how they help raise awareness for victims’ rights.
Rosario Dawson cofounded Studio One Eighty Nine Foundation following an inspiring trip throughout Africa. The e-commerce platform enables female African artists to build sustainable artisanal businesses. The site features Fashion Rising, an artisan-produced fashion collection handmade in Africa with proceeds supporting job creation, education and a global action to end violence against women.
Marcia Gay Harden works with HELP USA (Housing Enterprise for the Less Privileged), a group that assists people who are homeless because of poverty, domestic violence or war-induced trauma. The charity provides affordable housing to prevent people from becoming homeless, as well as supportive services necessary to help people become and remain self-reliant.
Stephanie March has served as a Safe Horizon board member for over eight years. The organization guides victims of abuse as they look forward to safe and independent lives. Their mission is to lead the way to a violence-free society by empowering victims of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault and human trafficking to move from crisis to confidence.
